It’s been three days since Street Fighter fans witness Victor “Punk” Woodley fall victim to Hajime “Tokido” Taniguchi in the Grand Finals at EVO 2017. During the presentation of the top eight players, you can see Punk crying with disappointment being in second place. Even though that’s a great position to have in his first year of the big event, that didn’t fulfill his dream as being the “Alpha” in the game.

Fans and other participants in the tournament tweeted him to show their support.

Second place is nothing to be ashamed about, especially in your first year. With all of the emotions and tensions that occurred over this past weekend, everyone was overwhelmed at the end of it all. Nonetheless, he has other championships, including the ELeague title, to look at as more motivation to put a potential EVO 2018 trophy next to it.

What did you think of Punk’s performance? Leave a comment with your views or any of the highlights from EVO 2017.
