During last week’s Mortal Kombat 11 reveal, the audience was presented with the gameplay of the upcoming title. With this comes a look at some of the new fatalities the characters received. Some were okay and some would make you question how the game gets away with so much bloodshed. Below is our list of fatalities from bad to bloodiest based on the demo.

7. Sonya Blade

Her fatality looks similar to Batman’s special in INJUSTICE 2 where she dives in and kicks her opponent in the air. While in the sky, she continues to shoot them with her wist guns as a helicopter looms over.

As she continues to shoot, the opponent goes further in the air sending them into the propeller, cutting them into pieces with the only thing left is their head.

6. Skarlet

Returning to the roster, she has the ability to use liquids to her advantage, especially your own blood.

In her fatalities, she channels the blood from her opponent making it come out through their nose, mouth, and eyes. The blood then turns into glaciers that she sends piercing through the body with the last one going through the eye. She walks up and pushes it through the skull send it through the back of the head along with an eyeball.

Her alternate fatality shows her send her veins into the opponent and attacking the heart which causes it to explode. Probably the safest choice if you’re playing in front of kids.

5. Scorpion

In his first fatality, he ignites, turning his whole body into fire, and then does what looks like Raiden’s forward dive to burn away the midsection of the other character.

Leaving nothing but the spinal cord exposed, he then takes out his blade and cuts their head off. While the head is still airborne, he throws his chain through the back of the head which comes out through the mouth.

His second, he sends his chain through the opponent’s body, lighting is on fire. He then jumps over and goes underground and channels back around where he rips through the body slicing it in half.

4. Raiden

The God of lightning has a simple finish with him shocking his opponent to the point their joints become detached. He then bolds them up and sends another lighting ball towards them making them explode. Honestly, his finish in I2 was probably the most creative we’ve seen from this character.

3. Sub-Zero

The Iceman himself is back with another creative finish. He starts by jumping forward leaving an ice clone of himself. He tosses his opponent into the clone and walks up and punches through their chest, ripping out their spine along with their head. He then swings the head into the clone, which has an ice spear, that pierces through the back of the head going through the eyeball.

His other fatality has him cemented his enemy in a block of ice with only their head exposed like a guillotine. He cuts their head off and walks up, grabs it, turns it into ice and punches through it.

2. Geras

A new character with the ability to control time. He starts by knocking the opponent into the air but reverses time to send them back. He proceeds to slash them and bash their heads in as the bloodshed is frozen in time before kicking them away.

His second has him traveling through dust in front and behind his challenger hitting them with the end result of him appearing from behind and pushing the brain through the front of the skull.

1.Baraka

In his fatality, he rips off the opponents face, then the front of their skull leaving nothing but their brains exposed. Just when you thought it was over, he wields out a blade from his arm, stabs out the brain and takes a big bite as blood gushes everywhere.

Since he wasn’t a part of the roster in MKX, creator Ed Boon mentioned Baraka would add to the level of gore the game was looking for.

Additional:

Mortal Kombat is a franchise that will forever have a place in the fighting game community and on the list of iconic video games. MKX back in 2015 was the fastest selling game at the time but has since taken the backseat to its counters, Street Fighter V and Tekken 7.

Even with the XL release, which included all the characters in that roster, the connection with the game became distant until the trailer for the newest title was surprisingly released back in December at the Game Awards.

There were some hints during the reveal of upcoming characters including Katana but more is yet to be seen from the game.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled for release April 23, 2019. Watch all the fatalities below.
